In-Store Redemption with MileagePlus Miles Terms and Conditions


By participating in the opportunity to redeem MileagePlus miles for products or services at retail stores, you expressly indicate to United Airlines, Inc. and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents (together, "United", "we", "us" or "our") your acknowledgment and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and the MileagePlus Program Rules, which are expressly incorporated herein. United, in its sole discretion, may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time, with or without notice, and your subsequent participation in the opportunity to redeem MileagePlus miles at retail stores for products or services will serve as your acknowledgement and acceptance of such changes. These Terms and Conditions control your participation in this opportunity and no covenants at law or in equity shall be implied or incorporated. United has the sole right to interpret and apply all terms and conditions as it sees fit.

Eligibility


Redemption Transactions

  1. In each redemption transaction, you are using an electronic code that will be displayed on your smartphone or other compatible device to facilitate paying for your desired products or services with MileagePlus miles. When the code is scanned, MileagePlus miles will be deducted from your MileagePlus account.
  2. Each time you redeem miles in such manner, you enter into an agreement directly with the applicable merchant. United is not a party to the transaction between you and the merchant. United only provides the access and the technical platform required for you to redeem miles directly with such merchant. You acknowledge that separate terms and conditions of the merchant will apply to each such redemption transaction, including but not limited to, rules and restrictions on availability, delivery terms, notification of defects, return and refund policies, money back guarantees and claims for damages. Such policies, terms and conditions are subject to change. You agree to be subject to any applicable merchant terms and conditions and should review them prior to purchase.
  3. Returns, credits or exchanges of products or services are at the discretion of the applicable merchant, and, if available, you may be entitled only to store credit in connection therewith. For details, review the terms available from the applicable merchant or contact the merchant for information. There will be no cash refunds for purchases made using MileagePlus miles.
  4. If you have a problem with products or services obtained by redeeming miles at a retail store, or if you have any disputes or claims relating to products or services obtained from a merchant, you must handle it directly with such merchant, and United shall not have any responsibility with respect to such problems, disputes or claims.

MileagePlus Miles

  1. Each member must have sufficient miles in his or her MileagePlus account to complete the transaction. Your miles will be deducted at the time of purchase. In the event that miles have not been properly debited from your account at the time of redemption, miles may be debited by United at any time.
  2. The amount of miles or miles and money necessary for a transaction will be set by United or the applicable merchant, are subject to change and may vary by member.
  3. Miles redemptions may only be made from a single account per transaction. You may not combine miles from two or more accounts on a single transaction.
  4. No MileagePlus award miles will be awarded in connection with transactions made using MileagePlus miles as a form of payment.
  5. Miles or other credits acquired from any loyalty program other than MileagePlus may not be used in connection with this redemption opportunity.

IN MOST CASES, PARTICIPATING MERCHANTS ARE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH UNITED; NO UNITED PRODUCT OR SERVICE MAY BE OBTAINED THROUGH THIS OPPORTUNITY; AND UNITED SHALL HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY WITH RESPECT TO ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE OBTAINED THROUGH THIS OPPORTUNITY, OTHER THAN AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OR AS PROVIDED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
  3. UNITED IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, THEFT, LOSS OR IMPAIRMENT OF USE OR VALUE OF YOUR COMPATIBLE DEVICE THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ENGAGEMENT WITH THIS REDEMPTION OPPORTUNITY.
  4. IN NO EVENT WILL UNITED’S LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE OBTAINED BY YOU THROUGH THIS OPPORTUNITY.
  5. UNITED WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THIS REDEMPTIN OPPORTUNITY.
